Visual motion check
A block glides smoothly when frame delivery is steady. Judder or uneven movement can indicate inconsistent frame delivery. Visual check only.
Browser frame delivery test · Results can vary with system load, power saving, VRR and browser settings.
Guide
How to test
01
Set display normally
Use your usual brightness and picture mode.
02
Go full screen
Press F to maximize the test area.
03
Watch the motion
Follow the moving block and watch the numbers for steadiness.
04
Check result
Look for late callbacks and large gaps. No score is given.
How it works
What the score means
Stability score
A 0-100 test-specific consistency metric derived from frame-time dispersion and late callbacks during the 5-second window. Higher means steadier delivery. It is not a hardware benchmark.
FPS & frame time
FPS counts observed frames per second; frame time is the gap between frames. Lower frame times correspond to higher frame rates; consistent frame times indicate steadier delivery. 16.67 ms is about 60 FPS, 8.33 ms is about 120 FPS.
Frame stability
How much frame times vary. Stable means low dispersion and few late callbacks; Variable or Unstable means delivery was uneven.
How this test measures
The test collects timestamps for 5 seconds, skips the first warm-up frames, then computes average FPS from elapsed time, median and average frame times, dispersion, and late-callback counts. Long gaps are reported separately - timing alone cannot prove a physical refresh was missed. The 0-100 stability score is derived from stability and observed cadence. All measurement runs locally; nothing is sent to a server.
What is Display Performance Test?
A display performance test checks how smoothly your browser shows moving frames. It looks at how fast frames appear and how steady they are. You just watch the moving block and the numbers - no score is given by the browser.

Optimizing test accuracy
For the cleanest frame delivery readings, keep these factors in mind:
01
Focus and visibility
Browsers throttle background tabs to save power. Keep this tab active and in front.
02
Background apps
Heavy video encoding or gaming in the background can cause delayed callbacks.
03
Power plans
Laptop battery saving modes can dynamically drop browser frame rates.
04
Hardware acceleration
Ensure browser GPU hardware acceleration is turned on in browser settings.
FAQ
Display Performance Test FAQ
01How do I test my screen performance?
Run the moving test and watch the observed FPS, frame time, and stability while the animation is running.
02What does a display performance test measure?
It measures how smoothly the browser can run the test animation under the current system and browser conditions.
03Why is my FPS lower than my monitor's refresh rate?
The browser, CPU, GPU, background tasks, power settings, or other system conditions may limit animation performance.
04Is this an FPS test or a monitor test?
It is a browser-based display performance check. It should not be treated as a full GPU or CPU benchmark.
05Why does my FPS keep changing?
Frame timing can vary because of system load, browser activity, power-saving features, and other software running on the device.
06Does 60 FPS mean my monitor is 60Hz?
No. FPS and display refresh rate are related but are not the same measurement.
